WHAT IS COMMUNITY SOLAR?
Community solar lets you share the benefit of clean solar energy without the hassle or cost of installing panels on your home or business. Instead, panels are located at community solar farms across New York State. The solar power generated is delivered into your local power grid and you receive dollar credits on your utility bill.

Your solar farm feeds green power into your community’s electricity grid.
You get a 10% discount off the solar electricity allocated to your account.
HOW YOUR SAVINGS WORK
No solar panels needed! Our solar farms generate power from the sun and supply clean solar power into the NYSEG utility grid.
Solar energy is allocated to your NYSEG account based on your electricity usage. You will receive a credit on your NYSEG account for the $ value of the solar electricity allocated, reducing the amount owed to NYSEG.
Then the savings begin with a guaranteed 10% discount! You get one simple consolidated bill from NYSEG with the solar power received, discounted by 10%, saving you money every month.

ABOUT AUBURN COMMUNITY SOLAR
Consistent with New York’s clean energy goals, the Auburn Community Solar Project will produce clean, carbon-free solar electricity. This project will produce over 7,700,000 kilowatt hours of electricity every year, enough to offset the usage of over 770 households in the Auburn area! NYSEG customers, including homeowners, renters and businesses, who live in Auburn are eligible to sign up and receive a 10% discount on their monthly electricity costs.
